Piper the Puppy
Piper the Puppy promises a brighter tomorrow for local children affected by disaster.
For a donation of $100, you can adopt a Piper the Puppy and know that your gift will bring comfort to a scared child who has lost everything in a home fire or other disaster.
While the child is being comforted by Piper the Puppy, you can take comfort in knowing that your $100 gift truly turns compassion into action. Your gift will provide shelter, three meals, a cot, two blankets and basic hygiene items for one day to someone who loses everything when a home is destroyed by disaster.
By adopting a Piper the Puppy, you are giving a helping hand to a family in need.
Sponsor your Piper the Puppy today and put a smile on a child's face tomorrow!
How Piper the Puppy Works
1. You make a $100 donation to the American Red Cross -- Louisiana
Capital Area Chapter.
2. The Red Cross writes your name on Piper's paw and then places him on
one of our Disaster Relief vehicles.
3. Volunteers hand out your Piper the Puppy to a child affected by a
disaster.
4. An alert is sent to you when your Piper has been distributed.
5. You feel great knowing that your Piper the Puppy is being loved by a child
in need.
Children Affected by Disasters Need Your Help
When disasters strike, the American Red Cross works to turn heartbreak into hope. Families may find themselves homeless and with little or no clothing and food. The Red Cross answers their call for help and makes sure they have a place to sleep, food to eat and shoes on their feet.
While our first priority is taking care of those immediate needs, the work does not stop there. We know that certain groups of people, such as childre, may need extra consideration or care. Children may struggle through the fear and uncertainty of the disaster. They do not understand what is happening, why they cannot go home or why all their things are gone.
The Red Cross provides that special comfort and support to children by providing emotional support and a variety of other services.
Piper the Puppy is another way for us to provide comfort and care to such children. Through Piper, you also can be a part of a child's recovery process.
