First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Courses

Standard First Aid/CPR/AED, Adult and Child Plus Infant CPR Schools and Community Course Code: HSSFA415 One of our most popular safety offerings, this course combines CPR and first aid training to teach participants how to: recognize emergencies and take action, perform CPR on infants, children, and adults, minimize the effects of shock, perform first aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, bleeding, strains, and sprains, and treat sudden illnesses, including poisonings and heat and cold emergencies. ** Meets regulations for class A Daycare Centers. ** Course Fee $52.00

 

Standard First Aid with CPR/AED- Adult Course Code: HSSFA404 In addition to CPR, this course also includes training in using an automated external defibrillator (AED) on a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. This course provides hands-on first aid training consistent with OSHA guidelines, combining lecture, video demonstrations, and hands-on manikin adult CPR. Updated with the latest science for first aid, CPR and emergency cardiovascular care. ** Meets OSHA First Aid Guidelines.** Course Fee: $52.00

 

Standard First Aid Course Code: HSSFA101 Lecture, interactive video demonstrations, discussions and hands-on training teaching participants how to recognize emergency situations, check the scene and call for help, avoid blood borne pathogen exposure, care for wounds, bone and soft tissue injuries, burns, heat and cold emergencies, manage sudden illnesses, and minimize shock. Course Fee $40.00 Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Training for the Workplace

CPR/First Aid Challenge Perfect for the individual who has taken several CPR and first aid training classes. A challenge is a competency testing of skills and knowledge with no allowance for review or practice with an instructor. Challenges are scheduled by appointment only. NOTE: Materials, if needed, will be purchased at regular prices. Course Fee: $42.00

 

Courses for Professional Rescuers

American Red Cross professional rescuer courses are designed for people with a job-related duty to respond in an emergency, including nurses, law enforcement, EMS personnel, fire fighters, business and industry response teams, lifeguards, flight attendants, and others who must take action in emergency situations.

Emergency Response (First Responder) Designed for training first responders, this comprehensive course follows the 1995 US DOT First Responder National Standard Curriculum. Lectures, demonstrations, videos, textbook, workbook, discussions and hands-on practice teach essential skills for numerous emergency situations. Key content areas include-

  • First aid for injuries and sudden illnesses
  • Automated external defibrillation (AED)
  • Preventing disease transmission (blood-borne pathogens)

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Designed for any individual who has a duty to respond to emergencies and combines participant's manual, lectures and video with hands-on skills training to cover the following areas:

Responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants

  • Using an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest
  • Using personal protective equipment to stop blood-borne pathogens and other diseases from spreading, two-rescuer CPR/AED techniques for drowning and other special situations.

Lay Rescuer First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor Training Course Code: HSSFA801 Our train-the-trainer programs allow you to become a Red Cross instructor and train others to save lives. Whether your desire is to provide safety training for your workplace, by becoming an Authorized Provider of our programs or to instruct as a volunteer in our chapter held courses, the American Red Cross instructor program will prepare you to join America's largest volunteer service and education force. You will be trained in First Aid/CPR (adult, infant and child) / AED (automated external defibrillator), Fundamentals of Instructor Training, and in the Instructor Specialty Course.

This course is a four-day training. Cost includes all materials necessary to facilitate first aid, adult, infant and child CPR and AED training.

Note: All Classes are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Lay Responder First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, to teach the following courses:

Note: A fee of $10.00 will be assessed should you miss a class, have to reschedule a class or cancel a class. If the American Red Cross reschedules your class, you will not be charged. All fees are non-refundable.
