The American Red Cross is best known for our work with disaster relief. But, what do we do when there is no disaster? Our day-to-day work goal is to help people prevent, prepare for, and cope with emergencies through educational opportunities. Our volunteer Community Outreach Team is working continuously to accomplish that goal. Volunteers are trained to share at informational booths at community fairs and/or present preparedness education to community groups, organizations and the general public. If you like working with the public and are interested in helping citizens make our community disaster resistant, please contact our Volunteer Recruitment Manager Barbara Bourgeois at (225) 456-5555.

Community Disaster Education presenter
Volunteer Community Disaster Education Speakers Bureau Presenters will assist in fulfilling the American Red Cross mission and help deepen the public’s understanding of what we do and the role they can play in making our community disaster safe. The key component for the Speakers Bureau Presenter is to deliver the message of how to prevent, prepare for and cope with emergencies. The Community Disaster Education Presenter is the American Red Cross educator who will help create a disaster preparedness awareness attitude in our community.
If you are interested in the CDE Presenters opportunities to help our community be better prepared for emergencies, please contact our Community Outreach Manager, (225) 456-5555.
